STILES: Ford’s contempt for taxpayers continues with more shady deals

QUEEN’S PARK — Official Opposition Ontario NDP Leader Marit Stiles is calling out more shady spending of public dollars by Premier Doug Ford.

A report by the Ontario Public Sector Employees Union (OPSEU) points to over $1 billion in payments made to foreign private administrators of government services.

“Doug Ford has no respect for the people of Ontario,” said Stiles. “He talks a big game for the cameras then turns around and hands hundreds of millions of taxpayer dollars to private companies, including American companies, behind closed doors.

“The Premier thinks the people of Ontario are his personal cash cows. He throws millions at private jets for himself, and billions at an airport expansion that benefits Wall Street bankers, but cries poor when it’s time to fund OSAP, end hallway healthcare, or make life more affordable for working people.

“These are public dollars. Some payments have increased by more than 500 per cent. Ontarians have every right to know why their money is going to these companies, and how much they’re getting. From his phone records to taxpayer funds, it’s time for the Premier to come clean with the people of Ontario.”
